Emilio Arthur Dermedy was born March 3rd, 2000 in Lancaster, California. He and his older sister Britten Moore were adopted into the family of Dorothy Carter and Gerald Moore on May 3rd, 2000.
Emilio accepted Christ at an early age and joined his home church, True Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, on April 8, 2007 in Inglewood, California.
Emilio attended Buena Vista Elementary School, Shadow Hills Middle School, and graduated with a high school diploma from Granada Hills High School in 2018. He went on to attend barbering school and later enrolled at Antelope Valley College where he studied cyber security. Emilio’s ambitious and curious personality allowed him to develop a well-rounded skill set through many different job opportunities throughout his life, from landscaping to customer service to tattoo artistry. He also enjoyed paintballing, as well as battling (and training) as a mixed martial arts fighter, competing in several successful competitions.
Emilio entered his heavenly home on April 28, 2024 in Littlerock, CA at the age of 24; while seated next to his fiancé, Pauline Salinas. Pauline was by his side until the very end.
Emilio often said “I’m not from here, I’m different”. He touched many lives with his infectious fun and loving personality. He truly never met a stranger. He lived to make those around him laugh and have a good time. He will be missed by many on earth and can now peacefully “live in the sky”.
Emilio is survived by his mother Dorothy Carter; his father-figure, mentor, and “uncle”, Gerald K. Moore; his nephew, Bradley Gerald Moore; his sister, Britten Moore-Hickman; his brother-in-law, Andrew Hickman; his niece, Kimber Hickman; and many more friends and family who knew and loved him. There is no doubt we will see him again, testing the boundaries of heaven. May his memory live on in each of us.
